Performs routine clerical and document management assignments under close supervision. Applies document management knowledge and experience to perform assignments using prescribed methods and procedures. Receives detailed instructions on non-routine assignments and exercises some judgment regarding priorities and to make minor adaptations and modifications to methods and procedures. May serve as the lead document controller on a small to medium project with limited complexity. Recognizes problems, discrepancies and areas of complexity and requests help when needed. Occasionally suggests work process improvements.  Thoroughly reviews and thoroughly checks own work. 

Duties: 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operates document reproduction equipment.
  • Performs routine clerical and document management assignments under close supervision.
  • Scans vendor drawings and drawings with mark-ups.
  • Applies document management knowledge and experience to perform assignments using prescribed methods and practices.
  • Receives detailed instructions on non-routine assignments and exercises some judgment regarding priorities and to make minor adaptations and modifications to methods and procedures.
  • Enters data and document information into the document management database.
  • Prepares and distributes drawing packages.

 

Essential Job Functions Under Certain Circumstances:

  • Produces status reports, as required.
  • May perform limited word processing assignments.
  • May serve as the lead document controller on a small to medium project with limited complexity.
  • Recognizes problems, discrepancies and areas of complexity and requests help, when needed.
  • Occasionally suggests work process improvements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications: 

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Knowledge and experience with MS Word, Access and Excel. Basic knowledge and experience with document processing principles and practices. 3 years clerical experience required, in an engineering and/or construction office with direct knowledge of processing vendor and engineering documents.
